Hello to my fellow Aviation Logistics Community and friends of Marine Aviation!

It just seems to be getting better with each reunion. What a gathering we had at the Embassy Suites Waterfront in Myrtle Beach in March. Our reunion was attended by more than 105 members, our MCAA Commander, HQMC DCA, sponsors, active-duty awardees and guests. It was tremendous to see so many new faces in attendance. I want to acknowledge the amazing work of our Davis Squadron Officers for pulling things together. Bravo Zulu, Gale, Rob, Brent and Bill. Additional thanks to those who helped our officers and board with the setup and care of the Ready Room and our banquet area. The hotel staff was exceptional in their support accommodating the squadron. Superb in every respect! Our Guest of Honor was LtGen (ret) “Whaler” Walsh, who shared his insights on Marine Aviation readiness and the strategic importance of aviation logisticians in support of critical missions, now and into the future. He finished by sharing with the group his perspective on the direction of Marine Aviation, its evolution and how it will continue to be one of America’s most lethal fighting assets. Thank you, Sir! Thanks to our very generous members and industry donations and sponsorships, we were able to hold a first-class awards program with Marines of the Year from 2nd MAW’s MALS-26 & CNATT; our Distinguished Service recipient (MGySgt (ret) McCutcheon) and squadron membership. A special thank you goes out to our guests who led our Executive Roundtable on Sat morning. DCA’s SES Russ Blauw, Col (ret) Blayne Spratlin, Mustang Services, along with Gen Walsh were part of a panel that took us down a path of a better understanding where our Corps is headed, particularly about the evolving roles and missions of Marine Aviation. We ran way over time, but that was a testament to the content and provocative dialogue that ensued. Best ever!! I’d like to welcome Tim Cook to our Board of Directors. He replaces Rick Owen, who has served the squadron for over 30 years. I thank both for their commitment, past and going forward.

Whew! Our efforts going forward are squarely focused on our Freemen Scholarship Program, where our next reunion will be, and supporting our new MCAA National Commander, LtGen “Whaler” Walsh and his membership drive for MCAA. Become a MCAA member! Stay a member!

Again, I thank each of you, and remember that this is your organization. We need the full team to maintain our tremendous momentum.
