Steve Franklin (Ret) Email
Steve Franklin, a native of California (but who calls Arizona home!), is a retired Marine Colonel, spending 30+ years in Marine Aviation Logistics. He served primarily in Aviation Supply; across his career, he had the privilege to support literally every T/M/S aircraft the Marine Corps flew from 1980 to 2010. He served in many diverse command and staff assignments, including VMA-513 (Yuma), H&MS-15 (Iwakuni), MAWTS-1 (Yuma), HMX-1 (Quantico), MALS-31 (Beaufort), MALS-29 (New River), ASL-31 (Pentagon), MARCORSYSCOM (Quantico), DSCR/DLA Aviation (Richmond), and ASL-1 (Pentagon). Upon retirement, he joined LMI (Mclean, VA), serving as a Senior Consultant to numerous SecDef, Marine Aviation, and DLA organizations. In 2017, he left the Defense sector to serve as the Director of Operations at his church (Journey Christian) in Midlothian, VA. He retired from the church in April 2026, and currently serves as a “professional” Grandpa (Pepaw) to his 5 grandchildren, who ALL live close to him & Gaga in Powhatan, VA!
Steve has been happily married to the former Dana Wagner of El Paso, TX for almost 46 years! They have two children: Matt (43) married to Allison, and Emily (40) married to Christian, plus four grandsons – Logan (13), Zane (10), Henry (9), and Isaac (4) – and one granddaughter, Vivian (5), the Warrior Princess! Steve & Dana enjoy serving in the Marriage and Family ministry at their church, supporting FamilyLife marriage conferences all over the US, and serving on mission trips in Honduras and Brazil, and hopefully (one day) back in Haiti.
In addition to being a Life Member of the MCAA Don Davis Aviation Logistics Squadron, Steve is also a member of the Marine Corps Aviation Association, and a Life Member of the Military Officer Association of America. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Business Administration) from Arizona State University, a Master of Arts (Administration) from Webster University, and a Master of Science (National Resource Strategy) from the National Defense University’s Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
